The second diorama theme from our Diorama I class is "Inside a Cave." We start by building out the boxes with papier mache and teaching the kids a general lesson about caves, stalagmites and stalactites.
In the second session we teach about cave paintings and focus on the beautiful caves of Lascoux. We drill a hole in the top of the box and make a "Marcel Ravidat" figure (the young boy who discovered the caves), along with a contraption to pull him up and down.
